Campo alla Sughera is a winemaking estate created by Knauf in the luxuriant area of Bolgheri, a celebrated nook of Tuscany with breathtaking landscapes and high-quality wines.
The founder of the estate is Baldwin Knauf - co-owner of industrial giant supplying construction materials worldwide. Thanks to the group of talented professionals he involved into the project from very beginning his enterprise appeared to be one of the greatest wine estates in famous Bolgheri DOC area. Although Campo alla Sughera products have only been on the market since 2004, they have already earned international recognition from the most respected magazines in the wine industry.
The winery's goal is to produce great red wines that reflect the high vocation of the region by maintaining excellent quality standards. Campo alla Sughera's flagship wine is the Arnione, based on typical Bordeaux varieties; it has an unmistakable character of great Bolgheri Superiore DOC. At the same time estate’s white wines are always delightful, showing very good balance.
Everything and everybody at winery strictly follow the most advanced agricultural and winemaking standards, as though corroborating the status of important German proprietor. From vintage to vintage the wines faithfully reflect respective growing years and winery’s unmistakable manner. Consequently there are two to mention: oenologist Giovanni Bailo and agronomy consultant Mauro Carrara - they are the first ones to share pleasant responsibility of being creators of Campo alla Sughera wines.
