Podere La Regola: The risen star of Montescudaio
Podere La Regola is situated in the valley of river Cecina at almost 5 km from the Tyrrhenian coast and in the Montescudaio DOC district.
Thanks to the special soil, the microclimate and the vicinity of the river Cecina, the vines have found a fertile environment for the production of grapes with a pronounced and very complex aroma. Cultivation criteria are a compromise between traditional methods and new techniques which aim to reduce productivity and seek quality.
Luca and Flavio Nuti inherited their passion for agriculture first from their grandfather and father. In 1990 they decided to transform the small production of wine for family consumption into a genuine wine-growing estate. Today Luca looks after the vineyards and cellars of the estate, and Flavio manages administration part.

It was only in 1998 that they produced their first Cru, “La Regola”, in memory of their great grandfather who bought 2 hectares of land at “La Regola” in the municipality of Riparbella, where he planted the first vineyard.
The company is expanding, today it consists of about 17 hectares of vineyards. The area's pedoclima fosters the development of traditional Sangiovese and Vermentino grapes, but also of typical French Cabernets, Chardonnay and Viognier. Last two varieties compose the blend called “Lauro” – the white wine of great bouquet and persistence, fermented and aged in wood for 5-6 months. In 2008 the company started the production of a rosé - Rosegola
